InfoWorks Technology, a leading innovator of library automation software, today announced that two more Alabama libraries, Trussville Public Library and Gardendale-Martha Moore Public Library, have selected CyberSetting to provide Internet filtering functionality, making CyberSetting the filter of choice for public libraries in Alabama.
Like Homewood Public Library, another Alabama public library using CyberSetting, Trussville and Gardendale-Martha Moore are looking to offer wireless Internet access to their patrons, via their libraries’ computers as well as through their visitors’ own laptop computers that they bring to the libraries. CyberSetting gives libraries the ability to automatically apply their filtering policy and functionality to include these mobile PCs, as required by CIPA, because with CyberSetting there is no software to install on individual PCs.
“With stringent CIPA and state funding compliance rules, libraries are looking for a filter option that will minimally impact their patrons, staff, and budget,” according to Jesse Song, President of InfoWorks Technology. “CyberSetting provides libraries with an affordable plug & play solution that is easy to install and administer, with a customizable filter mechanism that is highly flexible and non-restricting.”
About CyberSetting
CyberSetting, an Internet filter product developed specifically for libraries, is a standalone, plug & play filter appliance solution. CyberSetting’s filtering technology has been tuned to be consistent with the filtering guidelines laid out by CIPA and similar state regulations. It is customizable to best suit the local needs and filtering preferences of the library. The system is very easily installed and administered, with disabling capabilities designed to be very un-intrusive to the patrons and staff.
